Terms & Conditions

1. Definitions

• “Company”, “we”, “us”, “our” refers to Challengers Rentals.

• “Customer”, “you”, “hirer” refers to the person named on the booking agreement.

• “Vehicle” refers to any campervan, motorhome, or caravan hired from us.

2. Booking and Payment

1. A booking is confirmed once the required deposit has been received.

2. The remaining balance must be paid no later than 7 days before the hire/rental commences, unless otherwise agreed by us. The remaining balance can be paid in cash, which must be agreed by us.

3. If payment is not received by the due date, we reserve the right to cancel the booking.

4. Bookings made within 7 days of the hire date must be paid in full at the time of booking.

3. Security Deposit

1. A refundable security deposit of £150 is required before the vehicle is released.

2. The deposit may be used to cover:

   • Damage to the vehicle or its contents

   • Late return fees

   • Cleaning fees if the vehicle is returned excessively dirty

   • Missing equipment

3. Deposits are normally returned within 7 after the vehicle has been inspected.

4. Driver Requirements

To hire and drive a vehicle you must:

• Be aged between 21 and 75 (or as required by our insurer).

• Hold a valid UK driving licence (and complete threr DVLA license check).

• Have held the licence for at least 2 years.

• Have no more than [e.g., 6 penalty points] and no serious driving convictions.

We reserve the right to refuse hire if insurance requirements are not met.

5. Collection and Return

1. Vehicles must be collected and returned at the agreed times.

2. Late returns may result in additional charges.

3. Return time is 11am on day of hiring ends this allows time to check vehicle. If after this time an overnight charge may be applied. (unless agreed otherwise).

4. The vehicle must be returned in the same condition as when it was collected (excluding normal wear and tear).

5. Fuel must be returned at the same level as provided unless otherwise agreed.

6. Vehicle Use

The vehicle must not be used:

• For commercial hire or reward

• For racing, speed testing, or competitions

• To tow another vehicle unless authorised

• By anyone not named on the rental agreement

• While the driver is under the influence of alcohol or drugs

The vehicle must only be driven on suitable public roads unless agreed otherwise.

7. Insurance

1. Vehicles are supplied with standard insurance cover for authorised drivers.

2. Campervans are covered for UK and European travel and also has full breakdown cover which is providing in camper vans.

3. Insurance includes an excess of £1000, which the hirer is responsible for in the event of damage or loss.

4. Insurance does not cover:

   • Personal belongings

   • Damage caused by negligence or misuse

   • Driving by unauthorised drivers

Customers are responsible for any costs not covered by insurance.

8. Breakdown and Accidents

1. In the event of breakdown, contact us immediately.

2. If an accident occurs:

   • Ensure everyone is safe

   • Contact emergency services if necessary

   • Inform us as soon as possible

3. You must not admit liability or agree to any claims without our permission.

9. Cleaning and Damage

1. Vehicles must be returned reasonably clean.

2. All vehicles and caravans are subject to a cleaning fee of £50 for campers and £100 for caravans. This will be charged 

3. Any damage must be reported immediately.

10. Cancellation Policy

• Any bookings cancelled 30 days before hire: Deposits are non-refundable (any outstanding balance is refundable or the option to reschedule)
• Any bookings cancelled 21 days before hire: Deposit and full balances are non-refundable (the option to reschedule is possible)
• Any bookings cancelled 14 days before hire: Deposit and full balances are non-refundable (the option to reschedule is not possible)
• If you wish to reschedule, you may only do this once before losing full balance

11. Pets and Smoking

• Smoking is strictly prohibited in all vehicles.

• Pets areallowed in designated campers and caravans. A fee will be charged for pets. 
  Additional cleaning fees may apply if rules are not followed.

12. Liability

We are not responsible for:

• Loss or damage to personal belongings

• Delays or disruptions caused by breakdown, weather, or other unforeseen events

• Costs incurred due to early return or travel disruptions

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

13. Data Protection

Personal data collected during bookings will only be used for booking management, insurance checks, and legal requirements, in accordance with UK data protection laws.

14. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be handled in the courts of this jurisdiction.
